Most travelers from Europe, the US and Australia use Bangkok as transit hub to get to Myanmar. Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport is served by most major international airlines, and flights from there and from Bangkok Don Mueang Airport to Yangon are frequent, fast and cheap. If your flights mean you need to change airports in Bangkok, the journey between the two is about one hour by taxi. The Bangkok to Yangon flight time is about 50 minutes and will typically cost between $100 and $150 return (depending on time of year and when you book) with the budget airlines Air Asia or Nok Air. Other options include Myanmar Airways International (MAI), Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways International. The other major regional hubs that have regular direct flights to Yangon are Singapore (with Jetstar, Golden Myanmar, Tiger Air or Silk Air), Hong Kong (with Dragonair), Kuala Lumpur (with Air Asia or Malaysia Airlines) and Doha (with Qatar Airways). Many other countries in Asia and the Middle East, including China, Cambodia, Vietnam, India, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Bangladesh and other destinations in Thailand also have direct flights to Yangon.
